SHREVEPORT, LA - A celebration of life service for Betty Sue Thomas, 93, of Shreveport, LA will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 in Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. John Korlaske. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside.

Betty was born in Bienville Parish on June 20, 1924 to John Black and Neva Black. She passed into eternal life June 27, 2017. She was a member of Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church. She retired from Caddo Parish Public Schools after many successful and fulfilling years. Betty lived a full life touching and influencing the lives of her many students as well as her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Thomas, parents, John and Neva Black, and sister, Ann Janczys. She is survived by her sister, Johnnie Spurlock and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Betty as Pallbearers will be Fred Spurlock, Tim Spurlock, Robert Burt, Bill Burt, Ron Edinger, Russell Webster, Walter Janczys, Paul Holloway, and Honorary Pallbearer, Edd Spurlock.

It is requested that memorials be made to Ellerbe Road United Methodist Church, 10130 Ellerbe Church Road, Shreveport, LA 71106.
