SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral service for Floyd J. Morvan, 72, will be held 12 noon Monday, February 27, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Rocky Maddox. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Floyd was born on May 29, 1939 in Natchitoches, LA to Jule and Josephine Morvan. He passed away on February 23, 2012. He was a resident of Shreveport where he was a member of Rose Park Baptist Church. He was a retired maintenance technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Eura, Charlie, Gilbert, and Tounie; sisters, Rebecca and Rubina, and son, Sam Morvan. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Morvan; sons, Greg Morvan and Kenneth Morvan and wife, Jeanie; daughters, Despiro Morvan and Sybil Smith and husband, Stacy; sister, Irene Net; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brewer, Gary Flint, Ferrell Owens, Dale Grayson, Richard Smith, and Huey Young.
