Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Harrison Cleveland, 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 27, 2022 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home-2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118. A visitation with the family will be held at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Bro. Mike Stowell. Interment will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery-4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109.

Dorothy was born on December 12, 1933 in Center, Texas to Roy and Hassie Harrison and went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2022 in Shreveport. Dorothy was the head cheerleader in high school. She enjoyed cooking for others, gardening, canning, and loved working in her yard. She always had a song on her lips and in her heart. Dorothy was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years and sang in the church choir. Dorothy never met a stranger and was eager to share Jesus with everyone.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hassie Harrison; and her husband who was the love of her life, Dorsey B. Cleveland. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanna Cleveland Martin and husband Scott, and Robin Cleveland Thomas and husband Jerry; son, Joey Cleveland and wife Janice; sister, Marilyn Tabacco and husband Jim; brother, Danny Harrison and wife Kalynn; grandchildren, Josh Neeson, Jessica Baker and husband Jeremy, Emily Jones and her husband Michael, Rett Thomas and his wife Sarah, Jerrett Thomas and his wife Wriley, RobiDonna Thomas, Joelene Brown and husband Hunter, Jennifer Hammock and husband Matt, Jacob Cleveland and wife Meagan, and Justin Cleveland; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and a nephew.

Honoring Dorothy as pallbearers will be Josh Neeson, Rett Thomas, Jerrett Thomas, Jacob Cleveland, and Justin Cleveland. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Danny Adcock.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dorothy’s sitter, Jean Gill, the staff at The Glen Retirement System, and the Hospice staff for all of their wonderful care, love, and support along the way. In honor of Dorothy’s wishes, the family suggests memorials be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
