Shreveport-Addie Mae Greer passed away Monday, October 24, 2011. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Forest Park Funeral Home, 1201 Louisiana Ave. Rev. Roy Vandersommen will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. on Thursday, October 27, at Forest Park Funeral Home.
Mrs. Greer was born May 4, 1923 to Rube and Iva Winn in Haynesville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Orlan "Buck" Greer and John Garret, one daughter Gail Kreig, one half-sister, and five brothers.
Mrs. Greer is survived by her sons, Jerry Greer and wife Susan of Shreveport, LA and Paul Greer and wife Katie of Balch Springs, Texas; son-in-law Fred Krieg of Shreveport, LA; sister Valirie Owen of Benton, LA; half-sister Viola Bowser of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Ruth Tuminello for all of her love and support. She is a gift from God. They also want to thank the staff at Spring Lake for their care of mom, Addie Greer, as well as the staff of Agape Hospice, particularly Chaplin Larry Bass.
