LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Anna Belle Landry Burts, age 90, who passed away at 12:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels in Opelousas, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Maggie Burts Justus and Maryll MacDanel Creeley. Giftbearers are Ava Creeley and Madeleine Justus. Musical Selections will be "Pie Jesu", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "Panis Angelicus" and "Amazing Grace".
Survivors include her son, Boyce Donald Burts, Jr. and his wife, Darrellyn; one daughter, Leslie MacDanel and her husband, Patrick; Grandchildren, Maggie Burts Justus, Boyce Donald Burts, III, Patrick Shannon MacDanel, II, Maryll E. MacDanel Creeley; Great Grandchildren, Madeleine Burts Justus, Noah Aaron Justus and Gregory Miles Burts, Ava Flynn Creeley, Finnian Boyce William Creeley, Liam Casimir Patrick Creeley, Patrick Alexander MacDanel and Gabe Christian MacDanel.
She was preceded in death by her husband-Boyce Donald Burts, Sr.; her parents, Miguel and Lucille Authement Landry and two sisters, Jeanne Landry Higginbotham and Agatha Landry Trahan.
Mrs. Burts was born on February 2, 1921 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of Baton Rouge since 2003. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be Patrick MacDanel, Shannon MacDanel, Donnie Burts, Gregory Burts, Charles Justus and James Creeley.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
