She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who not only doted on her own family but also her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Born on March 25, 1929 in Rayne, Louisiana, she attended Rayne Southside Elementary and then Judice School from where she graduated in 1946. She married the love of her life, Gladstone, in 1947 and moved to Lafayette where she lived the rest of her life. Her pastimes included gardening, sewing, and baking. There was always a "sweet something" on the counter and her family enjoyed many a red velvet cake. Her grandchildren will miss her chocolate chip cookies and the holiday decorations that delighted them each year especially at Christmas when the annual "guess how many Santas" contest was held.
Frances is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Gladstone "Candy" Constantine along with their three children; Ricky and his wife Charlotte, Beverly Fuselier and her husband Kenneth, and Tina Vidrine and her husband Randy; three brothers, Vincent Guidry and his wife Ethel, Kermit Guidry and his wife Mary Ann, and Larry Guidry and his wife Myra; three sisters, Palma Leblanc, Mary Thibodeaux and her husband Mike, and Marella Hebert; sisters-in-law, Angelle Richard and Thelma Constantine; ten grandchildren, Marc and his wife Julie, Mindi and her husband Jadon, Lauren and her husband Jared, Jordy and his wife Leah, Adam and his wife Allison, Candace and her husband Chris, Gene, Elizabeth, Anne and Anthony; and eight great-grandchildren whom are left only to know her through pictures and family stories: Andre', Andrew, Payton, Emmy, Camryn, Graham, Ella and Mathew.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Cleopha and Erisse Guidry, her brothers, Villiar and Leroy, sister Fannie Alleman, and her in-laws, Frank and Elizabeth Constantine.
The family would like to thank those family members, neighbors, and friends who gave so generously of their time, the doctors and nurses at Lafayette General Hospital and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their special care.
