Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Judy Ann May, 70, who died on Friday, July 12, 2019 at her residence in Scott.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Reverend Jody Jagneaux will conduct the funeral services.

She is survived by two daughters Katherine M. Jagneaux (husband Jody) of Scott, La , Cassandra A. Buckner (husband Davey), of Denham Springs, La.; Grandchildren, Brandon Murphy, Brittany Morgan (Briston), Moriah Delahoussaye (Kolbe), Josh Jagneaux, Cody Pourcio (Brittany), Amber Twilley, Skye Miller, Jacob Trahan; Great Grandchildren, Landon Jagneaux, Avery Twilley, Nayia Pourcio, Camille Jagneaux, Emberlyn Murphy, Cason Twilley, Raiden Pourcio, Owen Jagneaux and many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her spouse Orel May; Son, Hill Mclain; great grandchildren Jayden and Kayden Morgan; 4 sisters , Ruth Miller, Betty Young, Jan Hyatt, Mryl Harrison and her parents Grady Cooley and Doris Cooley.

Born in Leoma, TN to Grady and Doris Cooley. Mom married young at the age of 16, she had 3 children that she loved dearly and that she worked hard to raise. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a Hot shot driver for Acme Truck Lines most of her career where she had the CB handle Heaven Bound. She was an active member of Bethel Assembly of God. She volunteered at many “Teen challenges”. She always gave to the poor and picked up the homeless. She had a servant’s heart. She loved going to the beach, walking in the woods and reading her bible. She was a spiritual mentor to many family and friends. She always knew the right words to say to make you smile. Judy always had her bible by her side and was willing to share with anyone that was open to listen. She never let a moment slip by without telling someone about Jesus.

In 1993 at the age of 44, Mom had an aneurysm that changed her life forever. Never in the time she was bedbound did she waiver from her faith in Christ. She loved her husband, Orel, her children and grandchildren. If you ever had a chance to visit with her, you would know of her love for hard candies and telling repetitive jokes.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Murphy, Cody Pourcio, Jacob Trahan, Josh Jagneaux, Kolbe Delahoussaye and Chip Underwood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Barnett.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. May's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston, Ste 200, Lafayette, La 70503.

A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the family of Judy May to her nurses, Jamie Rozas, R.N., Shanna Arceneaux, C.N.A. and to all the staff at Hospice of Acadiana.
