Lafayette — Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church for Wilda Marie Francis, 62, who was called to her heavenly home on April 2, 2017.
Services will be conducted by Fr. Clifton Labbe.
Interment will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana
Wilda Marie "Pookie" Francis was born September 10, 1954 to the late Albert Francis and Wilda Sias Francis.
She was a graduate of Holy Rosary Institute "Class of 1974" and later became a CNA having worked at Our Lady of the Lake Nursing home and private sitting through contract.
Wilda's greatest joy was her grandchildren, Kylie and Aiden whom she loved to the moon and back.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Meleka Francis; her son Jason Bernard Francis; her grandchildren, Kylie Elise Francis and Aiden Bernard Francis; her sisters, Elizabeth F. Francis, Ida F. Alexander, Eula F. Francis and Mary Nell F. Sterling (Donald) all of Lafayette, La; Ruby F. Broussard (Larry) of Carencro, Louisiana and Sally F. Brooks of Philadelphia, Pa.; her brothers, Paul Francis, Sr. and Harold (Veronica) Francis of Lafayette, Louisiana and Amos (Val) Francis of Houston,Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Wilda Sias Francis, brother, Joseph A. Francis, grandparents. , Adolph and Seliman Prejean Arceneaux and Alfred Sias; niece, Crystal Francis and nephews; Jody Brooks Alexander and Anthony James Francis, and Lamont C. Francis.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Kinchen Funeral Home at 7:00 a.m. until time of services.
Kinchen Funeral Home Inc., 1011 North Saint Antoine Street, Lafayette LA 70501 is in charge of arrangements.
