Dorothy “Tee” Rand Beatrous, wife of William P Beatrous, daughter of Mr and Mrs Louis Vatter Rand died Sunday, June 12, 2016. She was preceded in death by her brother Louis Vatter Rand, II. She was previously married to George Boutcher Riviere. She is survived by her husband Dr William P Beatrous and by her three children Marion Riviere Butcher (R Brent Butcher), George B Riviere, Jr (Robin Meric Riviere) and Rand Riviere Mason (Raymond A Mason). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She graduated from the Louise S McGehee School and she also attended Newcomb College and Finch College. While at Newcomb she was an active member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. All of her life Tee had a profound love of books and she served as Librarian for several organizations. Her favorite saying was “You are never alone if you have a book.” Tee Beatrous was a past president of the Orleans Club and for many years she served as an officer and board member of Le Petit Salon. She was also a member of the Debutante Club and New Orleans Country Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. At Tee’s request there will be no service and burial will be private.
