Ida May Bennett Zatarain Former Co-Owner Of Zatarain's Pure Food Products, and creator Of A number of company recipes, died at Memorial Medical Center Uptown February 27, 2004. age 98 years.

Beloved wife of Edgar R Swan by first marriage and Emile A Zatarain, Jr by second marriage. Mother of Velvye Swan Cahill Of Slidell, Louisiana and Edgar R Swan, Jr.

Daughter of Dora Hagen Bennett and Harrison F Bennett. Sister of Velvye Bennett Hahn and Harrison A Bennett and H Freeman Bennett, Jr. Survived by six grandchildren, Velvye Cahill Carrington, Marlene Cahill Morton, Elwood F Cahill, Jr, Shelly Cahill Chong, Kim Cahill Wallace and Janet Cahill Gardiner. Also survived By 14 Great-Grandchildren.

Mrs Zatarain was a resident of Chateau De Norte Dame Apartments; First Non-Catholic 'Volunteer Of The Year' and queen of their Mardi Gras Ball In 1998. Mrs Zatarain was a sunday school teacher and member at Rayne Memorial Methodist Church and was the longest standing member of the congregation (80 Years).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd (In Metairie Cemetery) on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation tuesday morning 9:00 am until funeral time.
