Joyce Lee Wiley, a native and resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 27 at her residence at the age of 69. She was a member of the Methodist faith. She worked for the Washington Parish Coroners Office for 15 years. She was a mother and a dear friend to those who knew her.
She is survived by three daughters: Marci (Billy) Cowan of Bogalusa, Karen (Steve Barr of Dallas and Sarah (Chris) Chisholm of Houston; two brothers, Johnny Lewis of Pearl River and David Lewis of Slidell; four grandchildren: Megan (Josh) Stafford, Morgan Cowan, Dawson Barr and Ella Grace Barr; two great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Hadyn Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Myrtis Sheridan Lewis and a son, Dusty Wiley.
Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., continuing on Friday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Frank Gutierrez officiating. Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
