Ira Lynn Dunaway Vampran, devoted and loving wife of John Vampran and mother of Jessica Lynn Vampran, died at 3 a.m., Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville. She was born April 12, 1951, at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center to Ira Dunaway and Wilda Carter Dunaway. Lynn was a retired nurse.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 25 years, John Vampran, and daughter, Jessica Lynn Vampran; her parents, Ira Dunaway and Wilda Dunaway; one sister, Dannie (Paul) Tassin of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Rob (Janet) Dunaway of Angie and Tim Dunaway and fiancé Amy Griffith of Talisheek; numerous nieces and nephews, including Missy (Jody) Bacque and children Blakely and Bryson; Shanda (Greg) Honaker and son Trevor; Barrett Dunaway and son Caleb; and Danielle Tassin; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Pat Barber of Amite; step-daughter, Heather (Ivan) Phillips and two grandchildren, MaKinley and Jordyn Phillips. Lynn was loved and will be missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations are sent to Capital One Bank for the Ira Lynn Dunaway Vampran fund.
