Albert Sidney Johnston, Jr. age 90, a resident of Alexandria, LA and former resident of Bogalusa, LA, passed away on January 7, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in Alexandria, LA.
He was a retired U.S.Army Veteran.
He is survived by: His wife of 63 years, Sadie Miley Johnston of Alexandria, LA;
A Daughter-In-Law, Marion Spurlock Johnston;
His Grandchildren, Nathan Curtis Johnston and Wife, Amanda, Rebekah Johnston Wester and Husband Ron;
His Great-Grandchildren, Troy Elliott Johnston, Madison Elizabeth Wester and Abigail Sidney Wester.
He is preceded in death by: His Son, Sidney Lee Johnston; His Parents, Albert Sidney Johnston, Sr. and Jessie Randolph Johnston; His Sisters, Mary Ruth Johnston and Laura Mae Johnston Vaughan; His Brothers, Randolph Johnston, Abbott Johnston and G. W. Johnston.
Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. David Womack to officiate and Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery with Full Military Services by the Magic City American Legion Post #24 all on Saturday, January 10, 2009.
Sadie
December 14, 1924 - July 25, 2018
Sadie Leona Johnston, 93, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in Williamsburg, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Johnston; son, Sidney Johnston; parents, Hamp and Bessie Miley; and sisters, Alma Carpenter, Mavis Creel and Viola Wehmeyer.
Sadie was a teacher with Bogalusa City Schools, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marion Johnston; grandchildren, Nathan Johnston and Rebekah Wester; great-grandchildren, Joshua King, Troy Johnston, Caleb King, Madison Wester, Abigail Wester, Owen Wester and Gracen Johnston; and sister, Mildred Camp.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3, at Ponemah Cemetery, 1136 Louisiana Ave., Bogalusa, LA.
