November 11, 1944 - October 14, 2017
Joyce Luwan Burditt, age 72, of Doyline, LA passed away on Saturday October 14, 2017. Joyce was born November 11, 1944 to Emma and Hubert Triplett.
Joyce Burditt lived a joyous and prosperous life. Her life started in the fall of 1944. During those years she married at the age of 16 in 1961, so young yet so strong willed. After her husband served in the Vietnam war, they settled down on a farm where they would raise their four children. Teaching them how to "Live off the Land" as some would say. Out of those four kids, there are 13 grandkids and 19 great grands. All because two people fell in love. After the kids left home, so did the parents. Walter got a new job and that meant they had to travel. So, they packed their things and off they went to travel the states. They did this for over 20 years, until retirement in 2010.
Joyce was the cornerstone to her family, some say she kept them in line. She was never afraid to tell you what she thought, even if you didn't like it. She always made sure to put God first and she loved him with all her heart. She also loved going to church at Central Assembly of God every time the doors were open. One thing that the kids, grandkids, and great grands can say, is that they never seen Walter and Joyce argue. She made sure of that. They celebrated 56 wonderful years together this past July.
Her strong will helped her to fight and survive these last 4 months after being diagnosed with ALS. She kept proving the doctors wrong every time, until the master physician called her home. She leaves her legacy and strong will to be carried on.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren; Ashley Elizabeth Walker and Randy Shane Burditt. Left to cherish her memory are; her husband, Walter Burditt; son Walter Burditt, Jr.; daughters Terry Luwan Burditt, Connie Burdine with husband Steve, and Deborah Cook with husband Andrew; grandchildren David Burditt, Crystal Allen with husband Richie, Timothy Couples, Rebecca Hooper with husband Robert, Rachel Miralda with husband Hamoodeh, Naomi Morro with husband Josh, William Hodges, Marcy Cosbey, Joshua Burdine with wife Carrie, Trinity Burdine and Whitney Deleon with husband Trey. Also left to cherish her memory are nineteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
A life celebration for Joyce will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Central Assembly of God, 700 Hwy 80 E, Haughton, LA 71037. Pastor Andy Harris will officiate assisted by Pastor Ken Richmond and Pastor Jeremy Smith. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80 E, Haughton, LA 71037. The family will welcome friends on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, 601 Hwy 80 East, Haughton, LA 71037.
Serving as pallbearers are Trey Deleon, Richie Allen, David Troy Burditt, Doyle Burditt, Ernie Burditt and David Burditt.
