November 22, 1923 - October 11, 2016
On October 11, 2016, Pauline Jimmerson Scott, age 92, left her earthly home to be with her Lord. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lynn Hawkins officiating. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston, LA, under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
After graduating from Arcadia High School, Pauline had a full life as a wife and mother, then returned to school later in life to pursue a nursing career, a dream she had since childhood. She became an LPN and diligently served others in her professional nursing capacity for many years. Always adventurous at heart and fearless, Pauline decided to learn how to fly. She not only learned, but was licensed to fly multi-engine aircraft and, for a while, owned her own plane. Pauline was a faithful member of the Barnett Springs Baptist Church in Ruston. She was an avid reader and also loved politics and kept up with world current events, believing that it was important to know what was going on in the world. She was loving and compassionate and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. She had a deep reservoir of strength and met trouble head-on, was open minded and understanding, and provided thought-out , honest answers and advice—she was a wonderful listener. Pauline enriched the lives of her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her two sons: Billy L. Williams of Purvis, MS and Thomas A. Scott and wife Dee of Scott Depot, WV; two sisters: Alta Harrison and husband Ken of Purvis, MS and Jo Ann Whitford and husband Fred of West Lafayette, IN; four grandchildren: Joseph Scott of Ocala, FL, Andrea Scott of London, Ontario, Canada, TJ Scott of Scott Depot, WV and Steve Williams of West Monroe, LA; and two great-grandchildren: Jared E. and Darin Williams of West Monroe, LA. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph D. Jimmerson and Alva Thomas Jimmerson and three brothers: Claude F. Jimmerson, Robert D. Jimmerson and Jesse L. Jimmerson.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Tim Waltman, Dale Shaw, Ken Harrison,Joseph Scott and Ronny Jimmerson.
Visitation for the friends will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
