SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Galatha Lee Brown Caldwell, 76, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2013 at Galilee Baptist Church, 1500 Pierre Ave., Rev. E. Edward Jones, Pastor; Rev. Richard A. Sanford, Assoc. Pastor Tabernacle of Praise Baptist Church, Dallas, TX, officiating. Entombment by horse-drawn carriage cortege will follow at Forest Park-West Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Caldwell was born on April 2, 1936 and died after a brief illness on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Mrs. Caldwell was a native of LaChute, LA and a resident of Shreveport, LA. She retired from Louisiana State University Health Science Center (formerly Louisiana State University Medical Center) after more than 31 years as a nursing assistant.
She is survived by her son, Rickey Caldwell, Dallas, TX; life companion, Walter Houston, Shreveport, LA; granddaughter, Jasmine Brown Caldwell, Dallas, TX; grandson, Joseph Gardner, Loveland, CO; numerous relatives and friends.
