A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilma Darlene DeBacker, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, in St. Michael's Chapel at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans. Officiating will be Rev. Peter Mangum.
Wilma was born September 25, 1932, in Independence, KS to Roy and Ruth Cox and passed away August 6, 2018, in Shreveport, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, son James DeBacker and her husband of 45 years Robert E. DeBacker Sr.. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert DeBacker, Jr., Joseph DeBacker and wife Joni, Dan DeBacker and wife Beth; daughters, Kathleen DeBacker and Elizabeth D. Michaels; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for Mrs. DeBacker's faithful caregivers and friends Mae and Lois over the last several years.
Honoring Wilma as pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to St. John Berchman Cathedral and American Stroke Association.
