MOORINGSPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Roy Evan Blaine, age 77, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Vivian, La with Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Mooringsport Memorial Gardens in Mooringsport, La. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the funeral home from 6-8 pm.
Mr. Blaine was born in Nashville, Ar on May 29, 1933 to Roy and Ruby Blaine and passed away on August 10, 2010 in the Overton Brooks Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a truck driver for Southern Pacific with 19 years of service, a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea, was a member of the Baptist faith and loved to fish.
His parents, Roy and Ruby Blaine, brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Lou Ann Blaine, brother, Otis Blaine and brother-in-law, Billy Thornton all preceded Mr. Blaine in death. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Audrey Blaine, sons, Evan Blaine and wife, Rosemary and Aaron Blaine and wife Monica all of Mooringsport, La; daughters, Pat Flanagan and husband Randy of Argile, Tx, Wanda Kay Spigner of Mineral Springs, Ar, Patricia Jackson and husband, Jimmy of Shreveport, La, Lora Watson and husband, Michael of Emerson, Ar; sisters, Margaret Thornton of Texarkana, Tx and Linda Milazzo and husband, Phillip of Shreveport, La; brothers, Jerry Blaine and wife Christine of Bossier City, La, James Blaine of Bradley, Ar, and Don Blaine of Mooringsport, La. His grandchildren Jerry and Jay Flanagan, Lane Spigner, Lauren, Evan, Jr and Solanna Blaine, Samantha Salter and husband, Daniel, Jason and Justyn Jackson, Ashley, Ryan and Kaden Ware, Haylee Middleton, Megan and Emilee Watson, Rachael, Shelby and Shalyne Blaine, Brookelyn Gibson, Maverick, Jerrica and Wyatt Flanagan, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of special nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Blaine.
Pallbearers for Mr. Blaine will be William Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Michael Jackson, Tony Blaine, Jack Thornton and Eric Divine.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the Drs. and nursing staff at the Overton Brooks Medical Center for the care given to their love one.
