SHREVEPORT, LA - On December 2, 2016 Edward L. Terry, Sr. went to be with the Lord. Graveside services celebrating his life of 89 years will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Rev. Jim Van Hook will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.

Edward was born July 31, 1927 in Shreveport to Frank M. Terry and Arie H. Hansford Terry. He attended Queensboro Grammar school and was a graduate of Fair Park High school in 1944. Upon graduating Edward joined the US Navy during WWII and proudly served the remainder of the war. After the service he went to work at KCS as a brakeman and was known by his buddies at work as "2 Gun". After 50 years he retired in 1990, of which the last 10 years he was safety superintendent. Edward had been a member of Mangum Memorial Methodist Church since 1937. He was faithful in his service to God, his church and to his family and friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 63 years, Pauline Wiley Terry, 4 sisters, 1 brother, and a nephew. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Edward L. Terry, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Sharron T. Bellows and husband, Sandy; grandchildren, Kimberly Simon and husband, Rob, Kelli Odom and husband, Tim; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Katelynn and Alyson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, to include his 4-legged companions, Tiger and Lily.

Honoring Edward as pallbearers will be Tim Odom, Rob Simon, Jimmy Parker, Jerry Parker, Charlie Marable, and Randy Richie.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at LifeCare Main and the staff at Pathway Hospice for all the care they gave to our "Paps".

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to your local Salvation Army.
