Kathryn Ashford Ratcliff, 92, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Graveside Service: 12 p.m. Friday at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport.
Kathryn was born on March 18, 1925 in Electric Mills, MS. She grew up in Natchez where she was active in dance and participated in the Pilgrimage Garden Club Tableaux for many years. She graduated from Natchez High School in 1943. She met the love of her life, Carey Louis Ratcliff in Washington, MS, in 1940. He proposed to Kathryn by the end of the year, and they were married on April 3, 1946 at Jefferson Street Methodist Church in Natchez, MS. She worked at Armstrong Tire Co. as a secretary after graduating high school. Later, she and Carey moved to Shreveport where she worked at USAF Barksdale Base, Bossier City, for nineteen years, working for various Colonels with security clearance. After moving to Lafayette she became a multi-million real estate salesperson, working for multiple real estate brokers. Later relocating to Houma, she achieved three million dollars in real estate sales over several years. Upon retirement, she moved to Texas, where she made her home with her family and children.

Survivors: Sons, Carey Ratcliff, Jr. of Germantown, TN, Michael and wife Becky of Tomball, TX.; daughter, Mary Green and husband Tom Green of Burleson, TX.; sisters, Chris and husband Louis Foster of Natchez, MS., Paula Crouch of Natchez, MS., Claudia Crouch Glockner and husband Gary of Columbia, SC.; grandchildren, Amy Ratcliff Clark, David Ratcliff, Philip Ratcliff, Jennifer Ratcliff, Gerry Eddins, Casey Ratcliff Green, Christian Cody Green and several great-grandchildren and other family members.
