Lucille Lamendola passed away peacefully September 23, 2018 at the age of 94. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Charles Glorioso officiating. Lou was born March 4, 1924 to Carlo and Mamie Maniscalco in Plaquemine, La. She married Sam Lamendola in 1943 and they settled in Shreveport, La. They lived for a time in Baton Rouge and Houston, but Shreveport was considered home. She led a full life as the mother of 4 boys and also helping Sam in the stores that they managed. When they retired to Diamondhead, MS, she opened a dress shop, LL Ltd., which she ran for around 20 years. After Sam passed away, she built a life for herself running the dress shop, participating in community and charitable activities and traveling. She even served as the Queen for the Krewe of Diamondhead in 1995. Due to Hurricane Katrina, Lou moved back to Shreveport in 2005 where she became involved with her church, reconnected with old friends, and made some new ones. Even with her busy life, she cherished her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She led a full life filled with love, adventure, laughter, joy and some sorrows. Preceding Lou in death were her parents, her husband of 38 years Sam, sons Carl and Christopher, sisters Xena and Jennie, brother Anthony. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Mike and Sammy (Judi), daughter-in-law Nell, grandchildren - Michael, Stephen, Christopher, Amy, A.J., Samantha, Nicholas, Jacquelyn, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous extended family and friends. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the administration and staff of The Bloom at Bossier for their care of Lou for the time that she lived there, Golden Gate Nursing Services for their patient and timely care, and the staff of Regional Hospice of Louisiana for their compassionate care during the last month of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Holy Angels, or a charity of the donor's choice.
