Services celebrating the life of Sidney "Annette" McClure Horton will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Annette was born on December 29, 1939 and passed away on June 12, 2017 surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, George Wray Horton along with 5 children: Tara Horton Woodman and husband, Mark, Jarrod Wayne Horton and wife, Michele, Shawn Wray Horton and wife, Robyn, Melody Horton Golihar and husband, Billy, and Chad Wade Horton and wife, Stephenie. She treasured her 12 grandchildren: Sydney & Grace Anne Woodman, Miller, Allyson & Ellen Horton, Cassidy, Carly & Jackson Horton, Bode Golihar, Preston, Austin & Aiden Horton. She is also survived by her loving brother and sisters: Dr. John Milton McClure, Sharon Jean McClure Blocker, and Sonja Teresa McClure Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Aliene McClure and her sister, Regina Anne McClure Alexander.

Annette was born in Meadville, MS but has always called Shreveport home. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, attended Ayers Business School and worked various jobs. After her children started school, she went to work at 1st Presbyterian's Preschool Enrichment Program. For 32 years she loved and prayed over the countless babies that she cared for at P.E.P. Her love for children carried over to her church as well. For over 40 years, she served faithfully in the nursery at Trinity Heights Baptist Church. It was at Trinity Heights where she not only gave her time, talents and treasure, but she made the important decision of her life. In 1953, she trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. That decision guided her in everything she did. Everyone who knew Mrs. Annette knew that she loved Jesus. They saw it in her humble spirit, generous heart, and in the way she loved her family. She was a prayer warrior and desired nothing more than for everyone she knew to have a personal relationship with Christ.

Pallbearers for Annette will be Tommy Alexander, Louis Stevenson, Todd Blocker, Daniel McClure, John Greer and John McClure. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Fullerton, James Blocker and Ed Cole.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity Heights Baptist Church.

The family is so grateful for the care Annette received during her illness. Thank you Dr. Paul Schuler, Dr. Corky Davis, Dr. Seaborn Woods, Regional Hospice care and Professional Sitters Services for treating our mother like family!
