Gladys Doucet Young, 84 of Vivian, LA passed away February 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Shelton Young. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 2 pm until time of service. Gladys was born August 30, 1928 in Crowley, LA and lived in Vivian for the past 64 years after moving from Jennings, LA. She attended the United Pentecostal Church. She was a fabulous Cajun cook and she loved to travel. She loved her family especially all her grandchildren, and she was always there from them whenever they needed her. She was preceded in death by her parents; Margueritte and Felix Doucet, her sisters; Hazel Fruge and Thelma Doucet, her brothers; Amos, Russell, and Gaston Doucet, her granddaughter Shannon Young, and her sons-in-law; Frank Wynn and Dickey Alexander. She is survived by her husband J.W. Chubby Young, her children, Lisa Parrish and husband Les of Vivian, Faye Wynn of Shreveport, and Larry J. Young and wife Yvonne of Pittsburg, TX, her grandchildren; Jayson Kyle Young, Cori Nicole Childress, Bailey Jones, Carly Parrish, Brandi Liles and Kelly Higgins, her great grandchildren; Garrett Young, Noah Childress, Peyton Childress, Gunnar Liles, Chloe Liles, Jakeb Brackin and Hannah Dean, and her great-great grandchildren; Caden Higgins, Evangeline Brackin and Autumn Brackin. Pallbearers will be Elmer Moreau, Les Parrish, Kyle Young, Daniel Jones, Ches Liles and Stanley Reed.
