Buras, La - Services for Dennis Clinton Beck, 81, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 29, 1992 at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Beeman, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church of Vivian officiating. Mr. Beck died June 24, 1992 in Meadow Crest Hospital in Gretna, La. after a lengthy illness. He was born June 20, 1911 in Shirley, Texas, was a former resident of Vivian, La. a retired oil field worker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Vivian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Furgueron; his parents, Charles and Lorena Beck; his sister, Mary Lou Tarbutton; and his brother, Woodrow Beck. Survivors include one son, Reverend Dr. James K. Beck of El Paso, Texas; two daughters, Elaine Buras of Buras, La. and Patricia Buras of Buras, La; three sisters, Lawanna Hartsfield of Bossier City, La., Daliah Magee of Bossier and Barbara Vercher of Houma, La.; one brother, O. B. Beck of Oil City; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Timothy E. Buras, Gary K. Buras, Sr., W. Owen Buras, Sr., J. Clinton Buras, Sr., Dennis E. Howard, III and Nolan A. Simoneaux, Jr. Mr. Beck will lie in state on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. (Shreveport Times - June 28, 1992)
