Downsville, La. - Mrs. Georgia Ballard Newell, 83, of Downsville, died Friday at Norris Clinic in Farmersville, La., following a brief illness. She was a native of Blackrock (Ark.) and a member of Downsville Methodist Church. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Peter James Ballard, North Little Rock; two brothers, Frank Ballard, Downsville and M. T. Ballard, Shreveport, La.; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Bond and Mrs. Ruth Swain, both of North Little Rock.. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Downsville Methodist Church with the Rev. Clyde C. Averette officiating. Interment will be in Downsville Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. (El Dorado Times - March 20, 1971)
