James H. Strickland , age 78, of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 27, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Officiating will be Rev. E.J. Barnes. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mr. Strickland died September 24, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA following a short illness. Mr. Strickland was a lifelong resident of Ruston, LA. He worked in the oil field all of his life which took him to many states and many countries. He is preceded in death by his wife Delola Mae Strickland. Survivors include daughter: Gail Reel and husband Randy of Hallsville, TX; two sons: Terry Strickland and wife Kathy of Calhoun, and Art Strickland and wife Becky of Farmerville; one bother: J.D. Strickland and wife Wilma of Monroe.; two sisters: Flora Roane and Gladys Johnson both of Ruston; nine grandchildren: Cade Martin of Waskom, TX, Rebecca Nau, David Reel, and Tiffany Reel all of Hallsville, TX, Stacy Austin and husband Andy of Monroe, Jessica Robertson and husband Jeptha of West Monroe, and Chris Strickland and wife Sandy of Bernice, Karissa Strickland of Farmerville; Ten great grandchildren: Stormi Niedert, Shelby Martin, Amy and A.J. Austin, Lillie, Merritt, and Pricilla Robertson, Sky and Kaylee Strickland and Logan Hottinger; one great great grandson: Timothy Sean Niedert; many brothers and sisters-in-laws and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Terry Strickland, Art Strickland, J.D. Strickland, Randy Reel, David Reel, and Chris Strickland
