Springhill, LA - Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Dean Cox, age 96, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Bro. Andy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.Mrs. Cox was born on February 12, 1918 to G. C. and Maude Hood Dean in Sarepta, LA and passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Minden.She was a member of Kings Corner Assembly of God Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard, visiting, cooking, and playing dominoes with her friend Richard Griffin.She is survived by her son, Melvin Cox and wife, Nicky of Tupelo, MS; daughter, Wilma Cox Rhyne and husband, Prentiss of Levelland, TX; four grandchildren, Milly Doughty and husband, Charles, Susan Farmer and husband, Stephen, Becky Barr and husband, Brandon, Clay Turner and wife, Delia; six great-grandchildren, Kathryn Doughty, Jamie Delafield and wife, Kelly, Michael Doughty, Rachel Farmer, Sarah Farmer, Hannah Farmer; great great-grandchildren, Bryce and Landon Delafield; special friend, Richard Griffin of Sarepta, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmar "Pat" Carter Cox; daughter, Gloria Ann Jacobs; sisters, Velma LeMay, Carol Hall; brothers, Milton, Ray, Paul, Preston, and Luther J. Dean.
