Joe T. Cabaniss, 69, of Springhill, La., and a former resident of El Dorado, died in a Shreveport hospital Tuesday night following a brief illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ellorene Cabiness of Springhill; and a brother, Hamp S. Cabaniss, El Dorado. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Springhill Presbyterian Church with Rev. William H. Hefelfinger officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery by Young's. The body will be carried to the church at 4:30 p.m. Thursday to remain there until funeral time. Active pallbearers will be Harry Tatum, Donald Canady, Charles Black, Ronnie Stewart, E. A. Warren and James Williams. The family will be at the home of Mrs. W. D. Stewart, 1100 Baker St., Springhill (El Dorado Times - March 14, 1968)
