Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Kellye Leigh Romero, 49, of Sterlington, LA, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Stuart Sherman officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA. Kellye was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. She was a United States Navy veteran serving in Okinawa, Japan and many other places around the world. She was a social worker and Family Therapist helping many women in our area. Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Martha Hutto. Survivors: husband, Dennis Romero of Sterlington; one son, Justin Michael Reeves of Covington, KY; two daughters, Kayla Reeves of Monroe, and Lindsay Romero of Sterlington; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Reeves, Alex Reeves and Jeremiah Reeves; sister, Kris Carbon of Baton Rouge; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda Whitlock and Red Whitlock of West Monroe; sisters-in-law, Denise Breard and husband Morgan of Monroe, Dina Pizzuto and husband Todd of Kenai, AK; brothers-in-law, John Paul Romero and wife Kerry, David Adams and wife Jennifer, Donald Adams and wife Sheri, and DeWayne Adams, all of Lake Charles, LA; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Harris, Lynne Mills and husband Terry, both of Crossett, AR, and Debbie Stevenson and husband George of Houston, TX; nieces and nephews, Mary Michael Carbon and Thomas Carbon, Bryan and Brooke Breard of Monroe, Samantha Playle and Crystal Malone both of Kenai, AK, Kirstie Mills, Marilyn Harris, Melissa Wheeler all of Crossett, AR; as well as several other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Bill Grissom, James Brantley, Bryan Breard, John Paul Romero, Donald Adams, David Adams, Blaine Herrington, and Shannon Herrington. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
