Funeral services for Annette McCoy Shipp, age 65, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 11, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane in Monroe, LA. Bill Echols will officiate. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, 623 E. Hwy. 80, Monroe. Annette was born to Edward and Margaret McCoy on August 31, 1945 in Jersey City, NJ. For the past decade, Annette has been a Principal Scientist for ENVIRON International Corporation, an international consulting firm. Her distinguished career has spanned over twenty-five years in environmental consulting, toxicology and risk assessment. Annette is a highly regarded scientist and mentor, and has been a friend to all who worked with her. The knowledge she brought to her work is unsurpassed and the number of scientists who have been guided and influenced by her are many. She was an innovator in the field of toxicology, who strived to bring the best science possible to understanding potential impacts on human health and the environment. She leaves a legacy of excellence in the field of health sciences and her colleagues will greatly miss her. Annette was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Edward McCoy. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Shipp; sister and husband, Kathy and Kenny Wurst of Toms River, NJ; one son, Bryan Shipp of New York, NY; one daughter, Nora Shipp Richardson of Baton Rouge; and twin granddaughters, Hayleigh and Hannah Richardson. She is also survived by two nieces, Karen Green and Amy Wurst of Toms River, NJ; one nephew, Jim Shipp of Monroe; one niece, Allison Shipp of Charleston, SC. Pallbearers will be godson, Jacob Carroll; nephew, Jim Shipp; long-time business associate, William Fuller; cousin, Lea Calloway; and close friends, Don Hereford and Tony Lamarka. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
