From the Louisiana Archives ~ Cox, S V B, Private Company A 2nd Louisiana Cavalry. Enlisted May 11th, 1861, New Orleans, Louisiana. Sick on Roll to June 30th, 1861. Present on Roll September, 1861, to June, 1862. Roll for July & August, 1862, Absent at Hospital nursing wounded since August 30th, 1862. Rolls from September, 1862, to December, 1862, Absent, sick & wounded, at Staunton, since September 17, 1862. Present on Rolls from January, 1863, to February, 1864. Captured at Wilderness, Virginia, May 12, 1864. Sent to Belle Plains, Virginia, May 18, 1864. Received at Elmira, N Y, August 17, 1864, from Point Lookout, Maryland. Paroled at Elmira, N Y, February 9, 1865. Sent to James River for exchange. Received at Boulware's & Company Wharf, James River, February 20 to 21, 1865 & exchanged.
