October 7, 1917 - January 3, 1970
Henry Thomas Rhodes, 52, El Dorado, Route 5, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon enroute to a local hospital. Born Oct. 7, 1919, in Lillie, La., he was the son of Sim and Rena Rhodes. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was a former shop foreman for Griffin Auto Company. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Celia Mae Rhodes, El Dorado; seven sons, Charles Rhodes, John T. Rhodes, Mike Rhodes and Pat Rhodes, all of El Dorado, Colvin Rhodes, Crossett, Bob Rhodes, Baton Rouge, La. and Pfc Don Rhodes, Vietnam; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Saulsbury, Smackover; two brothers, Ernie Rhodes, Marion, La. and B. B. Rhodes, El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Snearly, Spearsville, La.; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church east of El Dorado with the Rev. Willie LaBeff and the Rev. Charles Ainsworth officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery near Spearsville under the directions of Bailey Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jack Molnaird, Chester Stringer, Billy Beene, Pat Blackman, Leroy Benson and Ray Bryan. (El Dorado Times - January 5, 1970)
