Mr Breitfeller was a member of the Ridge Avenue Baptist Church in West Monroe. He was a retired US Army Captain who served in WWII and the Korean War, where he received the Bronze Star, Military Merit, and Good Conduct medals. He also worked for twelve years with the US Postal Service and as a security guard at St Francis Medical Center. He was an avid mall walker at Glenwood Medical Mall and was a daily visitor to the train yards to watch his beloved trains.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Faust Breitfeller; his parents, Louis Breitfeller and Louise Muellar Breitfeller; and one sister, Lydia Breitfeller.
He was survived by three daughters, Cathy Breitfeller and Jo Allyn Dickerson, both of West Monroe, and Heidi Kelley and husband Paul of Ruston; one sister, Veronica Scheck of Long Island, NY; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons and 3 nephews.
