From Louisiana Archives ~ Bergeron, Joseph, Pvt. Company K 28th Louisiana Infantry. (Thomas'). Enlisted April 6, 1862, St Landry, Louisiana. Roll for April to August 31, 1862, "Present." Regimental Return for July, 1862, "In General Hospital." Rolls from September, 1862, to February 1863, "Present." Appears on Roll of Prisoners of War Captured & Paroled at Vicksburg, Mississippi, July 4, 1863. See Cpl 10 microdex 2 sequemce 19. Also Oreline (Aureline) Roy Bergeron applied for widow's pension - cpl 10 microdex 2 sequence 33.
