Born in Ruston, Louisiana to Guy Pierre and Thurla H. Bordelon. He was and instructor at Kingville, Texas and became a pilot in 1943. He received a regular Navy commission at the end of World War II. Bordelon joined the USS Princeton during its second cruise of the Korean War as a night fighter and they began making night strikes against North Korea in 1952.n 1953 he detailed to Seoul, Korea during the "Bedcheck Charlies". Bordelon made four kills in the first two nights. He was awarded the Navy Cross for his service in Korea and retired from the Navy in 1969.
