Born in Laurens District, South Carolina to Isaiah & Jane Hunt. He lived in Bedford County, Tennessee, Jefferson County, Alabama & Lafayette County, Mississippi. Married to Teresa, daughter of Hosea & Cassandra Jackson Holcombe. Son: Alva Jackson & Wife Laura Ann Rockett Hunt. In 1854 the Hunts settled in Union Parish, Louisiana, and joined the Baptist Church of Christ at Spearsville. After the death of their son in the Civil War and his wife in 1867, the Hunts raised their five grandchildren: Mary, Martha, James, Jucdson & Louisiana.
