May 31, 1841 - April 16, 1914
Enlisted in 19 Mississippi Company G in early 1861 was discharged November 1861 account illness.
Enlisted 31 Louisiana Infantry 16 March 1862 was captured 1 May 1863 in retreat from Port Gibson Mississippi & sent to Alton Illinois prison 18 May 1863 exchanged City Point Va on the James River. Hosea Holcombe Rockett was furloughed from the hospital in Natchitoches on 16 May 1865. He lost sight in one eye during the war.
