This monument is placed in honor of Henry Barron, Sidney H Griffin, and David Jameson who on December 4, 1860 purchased the orginal plot for a public burying ground known as Spearsville Cemetery. Hugh Barron and his daughter Charlotte donated additional land in 1960 and 1995, and Confederate soldiers buried just east of Henry Barron's monument in unmarked graves.
