QUITMAN, LA - Funeral services for Mr. James Monroe Fowler, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 1997, at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, La. Officiating will be Rev. Truman Leach. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, La.
Mr. Fowler, a native of Texas and long time resident of Jackson Parish, La., died Monday, February 10, 1997 in Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro following a sudden illness. He was a graduate of La. Tech University and Southern University Law School. He was a former teacher and coach. He was an attorney in Jonesboro and a former City Judge and Assistant District Attorney. He was a Christian and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Brantly Fowler of Quitman, one son, Michael W. Fowler and wife, Karen of Shreveport; one daughter, Sharon Toms of Alexandria, La; his mother, Dovie Miller of Bossier City; two sisters, Maxine Green of Jonesboro, Barbara Sartor of Bossier City, La. and six grandchildren.
