Lester Percy Johnson, also known as Dr. J to friends and family, was born on September 8, 1955 in Monroe, LA to late parents Mr. Sam Percy Johnson and Mrs. Julia Mott-Johnson.
Lester joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
Lester attended Richwood High School. He joined the United States Army.
Upon his return home, Lester became a full-time husband to Vickie Lynn Jefferson, and they raised five beautiful children, Lester Johnson, Jr., Shenika, Dosena, Domonique, and DeEdrick Jefferson.
As Lester continued his life, he decided to explore the world by following the family trade. Lester became a truck driver and began driving coast to coast, all over the world, and then decided to make Orlando, Florida his home and was remarried to Bridgett Johnson. Together, the raised three boys, Kelvin, Michael, and Tommy Harden.
Lester was called home on December 17, 2018 at the Orlando Health Central Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Percy Johnson and Julia Mott-Johnson.
He left behind: a fiancé Jennifer Arnold Turnage, six children, Lester, Jr. (Tracy) of Atlanta, Georgia; Dosena, Shenika (Timory) of West Monroe; Kelvin (Tashia), Michael, and Tommy Harden, all of Orlando, Florida; his grandchildren Kelandrea and Diamonique Jefferson, and Joy’rian of West Monroe, LA; Kelvin Harden, Jr., Destiny Harden, Tarvis and Tommy Harden, III of Orlando, Florida; four siblings, sisters, Debra Coleman (Jerry), Vanessa Brown (Johnny), of Houston, Texas; Sylvia Scott (Ledell) of Monroe, LA; brother, Robert Johnson (Lorrine) of Atlanta, Georgia; uncle, Floyd Johnson (Kathy); aunt, Ann Bryant; two blood brothers, Bobby and William; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
