Funeral services celebrating the life of David Wayne Wesson, age 66 will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Officiating the services will be Rev. Ronald Dunn, pastor of Fresh Oil Worship Center, Oil City, LA. Interment will follow in Mooringsport Memorial Gardens, Mooringsport, LA. There will be time of visitation on Friday, October 13th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
David was born in Springhill, LA on June 17, 1951 to Jeston and Rheba Wesson and passed away on October 11, 2017 at Promise Hospital in Bossier City after a lengthy illness. He graduated with a master’s degree from LA Tech and retired as a Captain from David Wade Correctional Institution. David was a member of the Mooringsport Masonic Lodge #342 and Petrolia Lodge #363 in Oil City. He was an amazing artist.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Jeston and Rheba Wesson, and his brother, Gary Dwight Wesson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Karen Springer Wesson of Mooringsport; two sons, Nathanial (April) Wesson of Blanchard and Matthew Wesson of Mooringsport; three daughters, Kimberlee Reeser of Fayetteville, AR, Stacey McEachern of Shreveport, and Kristen Pickard of Minden; two brothers, Donald (Helen) Wesson of McGehee, AR and Jimmy Wesson (Darlene) of Maylene, AL; sister-in-law, Beth Wesson of Minden. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, a great grandchild and other relatives and friends.
Honoring David as pallbearers will be Nathanial, Matthew, Donald, Jimmy, James and Chase.
