SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services honoring the life of Richard Everett Nallin, 36, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Shreveport Community Church. Officiating will be Dr. J. Durell Tuberville and Rev. Guy Smith. Entombment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28th at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside.
Richard was born on November 6, 1972 in Shreveport, La. to James and Janis Nallin. He passed away on July 25, 2009 in Shreveport in a tragic accident. Richard, a life-long resident of Shreveport was a member of Shreveport Community Church and a 3rd generation, 3rd degree Mason. He was employed at Shreveport Harley-Davidson as a Logistical Coordinator for his boss and friend Wade Culbertson.
Richard was a lifetime motorcycle rider and had raced motorcycles since 1997. His career achievements spanned two continents and included 2 ADBA National Championships, 17 world records, and 1 world championship. Richard was also one of less than 70 people worldwide to hold a lifetime membership in the 200 mph club at the Bonneville Salt Flats riding a motorcycle. He held 7 USFRA land speed records ranging from 158mph to over 202 mph.
His grandparents, William and Evalyn Nallin preceded Richard in death. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jim and Janis Nallin; brother, Brian Nallin and wife, Leslie; His grandparents Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Bland, Jr.; Nieces and nephews, Shelby, Aaron and Cole Nallin; Aunts and Uncles, Jerald and Janis Vascoe, Audrey Henry, Rita Hendrix, and Dr. and Mrs. Austin Tucker.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be J.Y. Davis, Bo Holley, Willie "Pappy" Speed, Todd Lynch, Tony Snider, Chris Saunders, Joey Young and Thomas Culbertson, III. Shreveport Community Church
