Mr. Donnie Ray McGee departed this life after a lengthy illness on Wednesday July 28, 2021, in West Monroe Louisiana at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 22, 1958, to Verdie Mae McGee and Virgil Birden. Donnie was the oldest of ten children, and was born, raised, and educated in Monroe Louisiana.

Donnie worked at Pelican State Wholesale Distribution company as a delivery driver for over sixteen years. He retired from the company in June of 2020

In November of 1990 Donnie entered a lifelong committed and loving relationship with Janet. They remained together for over 31 years until he departed this earthly realm. Donnie accepted Janet’s three children and grandchildren as his own.

Donnie Ray McGee was proceeded in death by his father Virgil Birden.

He leaves cherished memories with his mother Verdie Mae McGee of Monroe Louisiana, The love of his life Janet of Monroe Louisiana, Janet’s three children David Buie (Florece) of Monroe Louisiana, Anjanette Buie of Murfreesboro Tennessee, Demetrius Buie (Brandi) of Bernice Louisiana sisters: Tonya McGee, Yolanda McGee, Sharon Brown, Kathy Ross, all of Monroe Louisiana, Veronica Brown of Quantico, Virginia, and Stephanie Traylor of Lake Elsinore, California. Brothers: Willie McGee of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Terry McGee (Yarvete) of Spring, Texas, Darren McGee (Pam) of Dallas, Texas, Marteze McGee, Michael Birden both of Houston, Texas, Anthony Birden, Charles Birden both of Sterlington, Louisiana, Michael Hutchinson of Seattle, Washington, Sherrick McGee of San Antonio, Texas, Virgel Brown, Cliff McGee (Monique) Toney McGee (Darnesha) all of Monroe Louisiana, and Kevin Toney of Mississippi; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
