Oil City, LA - Funeral services for Troy Vernon Stubblefield, Sr., age 88 will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 705 S. Spruce Street, Vivian, LA. Officiating the services will be Rev. Bill Treadway his former pastor at Ferry Lake Baptist Church. There will be a time of visitation on Friday, March 9th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Stubblefield was born on June 7, 1929 in Mooringsport, LA to Elmer Stubblefield and Ruby Mae Martin Stubblefield and passed away on March 7, 2018 at Aime Hospice in Shreveport, LA. He was a retired welder for Universal Oil Products, member of Ferry Lake Baptist Church in Oil City, LA since 1938, Master of Masonic Lodge in Moorinsport, Worthy Patron of Eastern Star, Lakeside, Mooringsport and Vesper in Vivian. Mr. Stubblefield was also a member of Hayride Sams in Shreveport and love to travel with his grandchildren.

Mr. Stubblefield is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ruby Stubblefield, siblings, Elmer Stubblefield, Jr, Charles Edward Stubblefield and Eva Ruth Burke. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elaine Stubblefield; son, Troy Vernon Stubblefield, Jr and wife, Vickie of Bossier City, LA.; daughters, Pamela Sneed of Blanchard, LA and Barbara Pearson and husband, Patrick of Haughton, LA; sister-in-law, Vesta Reed of Bossier City, LA; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerus nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mr. Stubblefield as pallbearers will be Ryan Stubblefield, Danny Burney, Logan White, Robert Jackson, Keith White, Daryl Griffin, Jeff Luce and Daniel Shockley. Honorary pallbearer will be Patrick Pearson.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Royal Becker, Internist at Willis Knighton, Bossier City, MICU Staff at University Health, Shreveport and Aime Hospice, Shreveport to their love and care.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to The Shriners Children's Hospital, 3100 Stamford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103 or to Ferry Lake Baptist Church, P. O. Box 278, Oil City, LA. 71061.
