Funeral services for Mr. Sammie Lee Freeman, 79, of West Monroe, LA. will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA. with Dr. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA.

Sam was born January 4, 1929, in West Monroe, LA. and passed away in West Monroe, LA. on December 28, 2008. Sam was retired from the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, the Masonic Lodge and the Moose Club. Sam was known by his many friends and family for his kind heart and his gifts of oranges to neighborhood friends and children. He is preceded in death by his father; Paul D. Freeman, mother; Gracie Mae Ivey Freeman, sister; Matilda Ann Diffey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Wanda Sue Freeman, daughters; Debra Wilson of Chesapeake, VA., Risa Martinez of Altamonte Springs, FL., son; Gary Freeman and wife Paige of Lehigh Acres, FL., stepchildren; Karla Smith and Ann Brown of Roswell, GA., Kamile Geist and husband Gene of Athens, OH., sisters; Laverne "Toots" Wright of Villa Grove Ill., Pauline Matinna of Page, AZ., Betty Salley of Alexandria, LA., brothers; Clarence D. Freeman, Ivey "Sonny" Freeman, Herman "Bud" L. Freeman, Dan R. Freeman al of West Monroe, LA., Paul Freeman, Jr. of Huron, SD. Also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Josh Freeman, Mike Freeman, Bob Freeman, Jay Lavespere, Randy Lavespere, Eric Lavespere, Sean Freeman and Michael Freeman.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 after 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, La.
