Funeral services for Dr. Carl Kenneth “Ken” White III, 62, of Downsville, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Rev. Michael Wood, Dr. Mark Fenn, and Dr. Dwight Munn officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 3:00-6:00 PM at First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Ken was born April 21, 1953, in Monroe, LA and passed away November 5, 2015 in West Monroe. Ken was an alumnus of West Monroe High School, 1970. He was in the first graduating class of the School of Veterinary Medicine at LSU, 1977 and devoted his life to the Animal Hospital in West Monroe for 35 years. He was a member of the Northeast Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Association, LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation, and served as a deacon and played in the orchestra at First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Leigh Ann White. He is survived by his wife, Janet Langston White; two daughters, Lindsey White Morrow and husband, Lee, and Katherine White Webb and husband, Billie; parents, Carl K. White, Jr. and Claudia White; brother, David White, DDS, and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Kaleigh Grace, Kenlie and Colton Morrow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Susan and Sam Poole, David and Sandy Langston, Richard and Melinda Langston; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ken was a man known for his compassion. He gave sound advice and was a role model for many. His words were always gentle, intentional, and full of kindness and grace. He had a solid faith and deep roots in the Lord that were evident everyday in the way he lived his life. His unwavering love for his family and devotion to his career could not be questioned. He had a quick wit, contagious smile, and charming personality that impacted everyone he met. “He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaves will not wither and whatever he does, he will prosper.” Psalm 1:3Memorial donations can be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children Home.
