June 8, 1837 - October 7, 1916
He enlisted March 17, 1863, in Dale County, Alabama. On August 31, 1864, he was listed on a muster roll as "Detachment of Troops from Camp of Correction Ordered to Duty by Major General Maury and Commanded by Major R.A. Harris at the mouth of Dog River near Mobile, Alabama." His name later appeared on a Report of Furloughs Granted by Medical Examining Board in Disabled Camp at Lauderdale, Mississippi dated January 31, 1865. He was then furloughed for 60 days for aortic mitral valves of the heart with a note that he was unfit for duty and was awaiting authority to be retired.
