It was noted he was to be buried with his wife, Eliza Jane Craft Foshee, in Craft Cemetery, but since the Anacoco Creek was flooded at the time he was buried in Miller Cemetery.

He enlisted March 23, 1862 at Rapides Parish, yet other records indicated he enlisted in New Orleans, Louisiana. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War after Confederate forces surrendered at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4, 1863. He was paroled at Vicksburg on July 7, 1863. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War after Confederate forces surrendered in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 26, 1865. He was paroled in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 20, 1865.
