Shreveport, LA - Weldon Douglas "W D" McAnelly age 87, passed away December 23, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mr McAnelly was born to Harmon Edgar "Doc" and Dessie Agnes Shelton McAnelly December 9, 1932 in Sevier County, Arkansas. He graduated from Dierks, Arkansas and went on to join the United States Army. He was a mechanic for two years. He retired from Kansas City Southern as a conductor for 39 years.

Mr McAnelly was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael McAnelly; sisters Lois Houston, Pat Driskol, Alice Stubbs and Sybil Melancon. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Edna V Harris McAnelly; son Gary McAnelly and wife Debbie; grandchildren Holly Fisher and husband Chris, Luke McAnelly and wife Kirsten, Brandon McAnelly; great grandchildren Caden, Kenzley, Hadley, Charley Fisher and Magnolia McAnelly; daughter in law Donna McAnelly and sister Linda Dehart.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 pm Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be followed at 10:00 am Pastor Linnie Lindsay and Pastor Scott Ethridge will be officiating the service. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA.
