MOORINGSPORT, LA - Robert Edward Guth Sr., 77, of Mooringsport, LA passed away February 13, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, February 17, 2012 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Robert Guth. Burial will follow at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mooringsport, LA. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, the 16th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Robert (Bob) Guth was born April 4, 1934 in Tyronza, AR to Arthur and Bernice Guth and lived Mooringsport for the past 54 years. He was a member of the Mooringsport Methodist Church. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former Mayor of Mooringsport, a member of the City Council, he was on the Board of directors at North Caddo Medical Center in Vivian for several years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Mooringsport and the youngest Master Mason ever. He was a member of the Caddo Parish School Board for over 20 years and he served as president.

He was preceded in death by his grandson Jeremy Brian Blaine, his parents, his 2 brothers and his special lifelong friend Bill Helton. He is survived by his wife Glenda "Pete" Guth of Mooringsport, LA, his 3 children Lisa Guth of Mooringsport, Bobbie Guth of Bossier City and Robert Guth and wife Claudia of Mooringsport, 9 grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, 1 brother Joseph Guth of Harrisburg, AR and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Guth, Josh Guth, Jimmy Blaine, David Sneed, Javier Vega, Joe Bob Dorman, Ed MacArthur, Oliver Peden. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Kessel, Jim Collier, John Dorman, George Dunbar, Rodney Knox, Curtis Dorman, and Kenny Vasser.
